he said the exhaust cam is purposely ground 4 degrees advanced because it helped spoolup back in the day. He admitted that it may not offer the same benefit with the advancements made in IC piping, throttle bodies, manifolds, etc. The big problem is every one assumes that the cams being advanced is a bad thing, yet nobody degrees their cams to start with. Manufacturing tolerances, decking the block, heads, etc, can have a big impact on cam timing. When I reassemble my engine, I'm going to degree the cams such that they match the cam card specs, and see how it pans out on the dyno. I'll know then whether or not there is a flaw in the cams. FWIW, when I assembled maglito's engine I degreed the cams, and was able to pretty much hit the specs as specified by JWT without adjustable sprockets. The thing spools like a beast. We have since added adjustable sprockets...dunno if Greg had to tweak them much the last time it was tuned
